How can access to essential services be secured through land rights?

The growth of African metropolises is accompanied by a consequent sprawl of informal settlements, most of which do not benefit from access to water, sanitation or electricity infrastructures. This workshop will be an immersion in the issues of land rights and inclusive urban planning as possible drivers of human and social development in that they allow access to water. The issue of sustainability will also be addressed, in connection with the problem of urban-rural relations.
