Local economies and bottom-up approaches: the management of essential services by local populations. Challenges, limits and perspectives

The issue of governance here highlights the multiplicity of actors in the essential services sector (water, sanitation, waste management and electricity) and the complexity, complementarity and sometimes divergent interests of these actors. Often perceived as a top-down movement, this workshop is a call to think about the governance of services and infrastructures according to an inclusive and bottom-up model that puts local populations at the center of decision-making and management.

The workshop will be an opportunity to address a set of themes such as the continuity of services, governance modalities and new cultures around services.

This workshop-conference will allow participants to interact with the panelists who will frame and moderate the session, presenting the issues raised by the theme and bringing critical reflection to the debates, notably based on their own experiences.
