Conference on November 14, 2023 in Fontainebleau: Free access to water, until when?

Free access to water: until when? This is the title of the conference organized by six Rotary Clubs of the South Île-de-France region on Tuesday November 14, 2023 at 8:00 pm at the Théâtre Municipal in Fontainebleau. The conference will help finance 2 scholarships for deserving students from local high schools.

Access to water is vital for human beings and all the living beings on which they depend. This natural resource is a common good coveted for multiple uses (agriculture, energy and industry, river navigation, drinking water...) whose scarcity is increased during natural disasters, and progressively with the climate disruptions observed and predicted in the decades to come.

Mastering this resource is a major challenge. Patrice Fonlladosa, with his knowledge and international experience of water resource management in countries in Africa, the Middle East and India, will show the audience the ways in which government agencies can ensure fair access to water for populations. He will highlight innovative examples and ways forward to achieve the goal of free access to water for all, and will answer questions from the audience.

Funding for the scholarships of the 2 students who will be presented at the end of the conference is provided by: conference entrance fees (€15/p), donations from corporate sponsors and a grant from The Rotary Foundation.
