Marie-Pierre Caley obtained a doctorate in geography from the University of Paris VIII in 1991.

Marie-Pierre Caley is the Executive Director of the French international solidarity NGO ACTED which she co-founded twenty years ago, after having worked in two NGOs in Afghanistan for two years.

She has worked on the development of ACTED's activities in Afghanistan, then in Central Asia and, since 2004, in response to the main humanitarian crises around the world, both on emergency responses and on the accompaniment and reinforcement of development dynamics. Today, she supervises all the missions of the NGO in nearly 35 countries. Marie-Pierre Caley has also contributed to the launch of numerous tools and initiatives that contribute to the definition of an innovative, holistic and inclusive humanitarian and sustainable development agenda: the OXUS microfinance network, the Convergences platform and its annual global forum, the Impact Initiatives think tank, the Babyloan.org website, etc.
